Praise Kier: Britt Lower is a winner at the Emmys 2025.
The Severance star took home the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series at the Sept. 14 ceremony, beating out Matlock’s Kathy Bates, The Last of Us‘ Bella Ramsey, Severance‘s Britt Lower, The Diplomat‘s Keri Russell and Bad Sisters‘ Sharon Horgan. Taking the stage at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, Britt opened a piece of paper with what appeared to be a nod to her character Helly R. written on the back, reading, “LET ME OUT.”
“First, it’s a privilege to even be mentioned alongside such an incredible group of artists,” she began. “I share this award with my heroic cast and crew whose work catalyzes mine.”
After also thanking her family and “chosen family,” Britt ended her speech with another shoutout to her severed character.Â
“Thank you for Helly R.,” she added, “for choosing me.”
