Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembélé has won the 2025 men’s Ballon d’Or, crowning the best season of his career.
The 28-year-old French international played a decisive role in PSG’s treble-winning campaign, including their first UEFA Champions League title. Dembélé finished ahead of Barcelona’s 18-year-old forward Lamine Yamal, who came second in the voting.
Converted from winger to striker by coach Luis Enrique, Dembélé scored 21 goals and provided eight assists in 29 Ligue 1 appearances, sharing the league’s top scorer award and earning a place in the Team of the Year.
In the Champions League, he added eight goals and six assists, including decisive contributions in the semifinal against Arsenal and the final against Inter Milan.
“Winning a Ballon d’Or when you’re a football player is the Holy Grail individually,” Dembélé told France Football. “It’s something you dream about when you’re little.”
The award recognises Dembélé’s resurgence after several injury-plagued seasons earlier in his career. It also marks a milestone for PSG, whose dominance in France has now translated into global recognition at football’s highest individual awards.
