The Kano State Police Command has arrested two men for allegedly robbing and attempting to kill Afrobeat artiste Lil Kesh in Lagos.

Naija News reports that the incident took place on August 19, 2025, at Bera Estate, Chevron, Lagos.

During the attack, the suspects reportedly forced the singer to transfer N2,120,000 from his account.

He was also left with a deep cut on his neck.

According to the police, the suspects, identified as 25-year-old Mathew Adewole of Na’ibawa Quarters and 31-year-old Mukhtar Muhammad of Unguwa Uku Quarters, were arrested on September 11 at Na’ibawa Quarters in Kano after intelligence-led operations.

The command revealed that Adewole admitted to attacking the artiste, while the stolen money was traced to Muhammad’s account.

Both suspects have since been transferred to the Lagos State Police Command for further investigation and possible prosecution.

The Kano Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori, praised the operatives for their work and assured residents that the command would continue to strengthen intelligence and community policing to curb crime.

In other news, the Yauri Local Government Area (LGA) of Kebbi State has imposed a 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew following a bloody clash between youths engaged in gold mining activities in the Garin Katta community.

Naija News reports that the unrest, which erupted last Saturday, led to the loss of lives and widespread destruction of property.
