Access Bank (Kenya) PLC (“Access Bank Kenya”) and National Bank of Kenya (“NBK”) have announced a strategic service integration that enables customers from either bank to access selected in-branch services across both institutions.

As part of the ongoing integration process, tellers across the combined network of more than 100 branches nationwide can now process core transactions for all customers. These services include:

  • Viewing account details
  • Cash deposits and withdrawals
  • Funds transfers

This milestone is designed to enhance convenience, expand reach, and improve service delivery. Customers can be assured that their existing accounts, cards, cheque books, and digital platforms remain valid, and all deposits remain secure.

Ralph Opara, County Managing Director of Access Bank Kenya, said, “By opening our networks to each other’s customers, we are making banking simpler, faster, and more accessible. This reflects our ambition to deliver greater choice, improved digital services, and stronger financial solutions.”

George Odhiambo, Managing Director of NBK, added:“Our customers remain at the heart of everything we do. This synergy with Access Bank Kenya demonstrates how collaboration in the banking industry can deliver real value, empower communities, and support Kenya’s economic growth agenda.”

Expanded Benefits for Customers

As integration continues, customers will gain access to a broader range of offerings that combine NBK’s strong public sector and retail heritage with Access Bank’s global expertise and digital innovation:

  • Retail & SME Clients: Wider branch access and more reliable digital channels
  • Corporate & Multinational Clients: Enhanced cross-border trade finance and treasury management via Access Bank hubs in the UK, Dubai, China, Malta, France, India, Lebanon, and Hong Kong
  • Public Sector Clients: Continued reliance on NBK’s expertise, now strengthened by digitized collections, disbursements, and expanded capacity to advance Kenya’s national inclusion agenda

This initiative reinforces the joint commitment of Access Bank Kenya and NBK to simplify banking, enhance customer experiences, and support the growth of Kenya’s digital and physical financial ecosystems.

Customers can now look forward to greater convenience, fewer transaction barriers, and wider accessibility to financial services across the country.
