A video of a foreign woman documenting her experience in Lagos during a heavy downpour has gone viral, sparking mixed reactions online.

Filmed in Lekki, she was seen wading through floodwaters on her way to a supermarket, describing the moment as “shocking and surreal.”

In the clip, she said: “Who said Africa doesn’t have water? So we’re outside. We’re live from Lekki and this is our life. The big boys’ life in Lekki. This is us just going inside the supermarket to buy drinks. Even in the supermarket there’s still water. This is crazy. Omo, wetin be this.”

Lekki, despite being one of Lagos’ most expensive areas, often suffers flooding due to poor drainage.

The woman’s video reignited debates about the city’s infrastructure. While some Nigerians felt she was mocking residents, others argued she was only sharing her surprise.

In other news…… A man was left stunned after receiving a message from a Christian woman asking him to care for her dog if she is “raptured” and taken to heaven.

The unusual exchange happened around September 23, a date some people had predicted for the rapture. While many were focused on spiritual preparations, others made unexpected practical plans.

The man, who is gay, shared the message she sent:

“Hey Misha I really love your videos and I know how much you love your dogs. I don’t know if you seen or heard about how the rapture is happening this week but I live in Waco only about 1 hour from you so I was wondering if we could meet up and you could take care of my dog Abigail while I meet our Heavenly Father?”

Taken aback, he responded:

“Ma’am did you just straight up tell me to my face that I’m not worthy of getting raptured so I should take care of your dog?”

She attempted to clarify:

“Oh Kisha don’t be sensitive. I just thought I’d ask because you joke around too much about things that are serious to God. You’re funny and have a good heart but you don’t give me the vibe that you’ve submitted to God. That’s why I thought you’d be good to care for Abigail.”

The man replied:

“So you’re saying I’m Hell’s designated dog sitter… I’m sincerely sorry that you’ve allowed a man and the social media algorithm to make you believe this is happening, but on Wednesday when you’re still here feel free to unfollow me because you’re being rude.”

He later posted screenshots of the conversation on Facebook, saying it revealed how she truly viewed him. He added that he would no longer remain friends with her, feeling disrespected and judged.

The post quickly spread online, attracting widespread reactions and debate.
