• BBNaija stars Tacha Akide and Mercy Eke stirred buzz after Tacha surprised fans by wishing Mercy a happy birthday, calling her “gorgeous” and urging her to “stay winning.”
  • The move, seen as a sign of reconciliation, comes after years of rivalry marked by shades like Tacha’s 2023 tweet, “But is she me?” and her remark questioning Mercy’s win.

Big Brother Naija stars Tacha Akide and Mercy Eke may have finally put their rivalry behind them after Tacha publicly celebrated Mercy on her birthday.

In a comment on Mercy’s post, Tacha wrote: “gorgeous” and urged her to “stay winning.” The gesture shocked fans who have long linked the two with social media shades.

Fans praised Tacha’s move, calling it a sign of maturity.

Their rivalry goes back years. In 2023, after Mercy flaunted her Range Rover, Tacha tweeted: “But is she me?” She also suggested Mercy wouldn’t have won her season without her disqualification, saying so after Ilebaye’s All Stars win. Actress Iheme Nancy defended Mercy, insisting she had “more votes than Tacha” and earned her victory.

The feud traces back to the fiery ‘Pepper Dem’ fight that led to Tacha’s disqualification and Mercy’s eventual win.

Both, however, reconciled in 2022 during a joint interview with Toke Makinwa, admitting their beef had been fuelled largely by fans and social media.

In other news…. Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has promised to stand firmly beside her close friend and colleague Iyabo Ojo, saying she will no longer stay silent after what she calls months of relentless bullying.

Abraham’s statement follows the criticisms Ojo has faced over matters involving the late Mohbad, Sam Larry, Naira Marley, and repeated jabs from long-time colleague Lizzy Anjorin.

Sharing a passionate post on Instagram, Abraham explained that she had quietly supported Ojo until now but that her patience had reached its limit.

“Aunty mi, Aunty Iyabo… I’ve watched you get bullied for months. I stayed silent, fighting with you in spirit, hoping they’d stop. But they didn’t. Now, I’m about to react, and I pray the world won’t call it ‘overreacting.’ Because this time, I’m going to OVERDO it. Not just as a mum… but as the Oversabi that I am. Let’s go,” she wrote.

Iyabo Ojo replied in the comments, urging her friend to remain calm while expressing affection:

“Baby, hold your peace. I love you.”

The exchange which was later deleted sparked buzz online, with many fans praising Abraham’s loyalty while others agreed with Ojo’s plea for restraint.
