Popular Nigerian singer, Seyi Shay, has stressed the significance of a father figure in the upbringing of the girl child.

The music star stated that women who grow up with father figures are generally more stable and develop stronger values than those who do not.

She further dismissed the belief that “men are not important,” describing it as a tactic aimed at breaking more homes.

Speaking on The Honest Bunch podcast, she said, *“Most women who have a father figure in their lives are generally more stable. They had a lot more access to good education and good morals growing up than the ones that don’t.

“Also, there is a bar when they want to get married or when they chose male friends. All these narrative of men are not important is bullsht because that’s just an agenda for more divisions in our homes so that we can churn out more broken souls and more lost females and males.”

The 39-year-old artiste also mentioned that she is thankful she didn’t have a daughter in her 20s, noting that she is now better equipped to raise a child.

She explained that her experiences have prepared her to guide her daughter in making wiser decisions about men, friendships, and life in general.
