Nollywood star Laide Bakare has revealed that she personally introduced her teenage daughter, Simisola, to nightlife and alcohol at the age of 17.
The actress made this revelation during a conversation with content creator Mr Lilgaga, where she explained her reasons for doing so.
According to Bakare, she deliberately took her daughter to a nightclub so that her first experience with nightlife would be tied to her, not strangers.
“I took my daughter to the club when she turned 17, and I’m glad that in her memoir she will mention me as the one who first introduced her to alcohol and clubbing,” she said.
She further explained that her choice was intentional, stressing that she preferred to be the one to expose Simisola to such experiences rather than allowing her to discover them through outsiders who might mislead her.
“At least she’ll always say, ‘it was my mother who showed me these things first,’” the actress added.
