Opposition figures in Sierra Leone have accused Dutch cocaine trafficker Jos Leijdekkers, popularly known as Chubby Jos, of evading extradition by allegedly fathering a child with President Julius Maada Bio’s daughter, Agnes Bio.

Leijdekkers, 34, wanted across Europe with sentences totalling 74 years, has reportedly appeared at events with the Bio family, including a New Year’s church service and a birthday party for the immigration chief.

Opposition leader Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray alleged that the child was born in New York and claimed the government is protecting Leijdekkers from arrest.

The Sierra Leone communications ministry denied the claims, saying President Bio had “no knowledge of the identity or issues” involving Leijdekkers, who remains wanted by Dutch and Belgian authorities on drug trafficking, torture, and murder charges.
