Usman revealed that the incident dates back to 2017, when he asked his best friend to test his girlfriend’s loyalty by attempting to woo her. The move, however, took an unexpected turn as the woman accepted Aliyu’s advances, leading to a romantic relationship between them.
What began as a test of faithfulness soon blossomed into marriage, with the couple later welcoming a child.
Usman first shared the story in 2019, noting at the time that his former girlfriend and best friend had been married for two years.
“Today has marked exactly 2 years since I sent my best friend Aliyu to go and try to date my girlfriend to test and confirm if she can accept any other man over me. They are now married with 1 child,” he tweeted then.
In a recent update posted on Thursday, October 23, 2025, Usman revisited the viral tweet, revealing that the couple’s family has since grown.
“3 kids now and counting,” he wrote.
His post has once again sparked conversations online about trust, friendship, and the unpredictability of relationships.
