A Magistrate’s Court sitting in Kuje, Abuja, has granted bail to publisher and activist Omoyele Sowore, Aloy Ejimakor, a lawyer representing detained IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, Kanu’s brother Prince Emmanuel Kanu, and ten others.
The defendants were each granted bail in the sum of ₦500,000, with two sureties in like sum.
Their arrest followed the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest held on October 20 in Abuja, which led to charges of inciting public disturbance and breach of peace being filed against them.
According to reports, Ejimakor, Emmanuel Kanu, and ten others were initially detained at the Kuje Correctional Facility after being apprehended during the protest. Sowore, on the other hand, was arrested on October 23 at the Federal High Court in Abuja, where he had gone to express solidarity during Nnamdi Kanu’s terrorism trial.
After hearing arguments from the defense counsel, the court granted all 13 defendants temporary freedom pending further proceedings on the matter.
In otehr news…. A Canada-based Nigerian doctor, identified as Chuks, has shared his opinion on the ongoing saga between content creator VeryDarkMan and businessman Blord.
In a viral post, Dr. Chuks compared the situation to pricing differences at airports, explaining that what some call “ripping” is simply business.
He wrote, “Someone can buy a can of water outside the airport for $1 (₦1,500), but once you enter the airport, the same can of water can be sold for $10 (₦15,000). That’s just business — you can call it ripping, but it’s not. Besides, you can always go elsewhere to buy cheaper since no one is forcing you.”
His comment comes amid online debates surrounding the iPhone upgrade issue between VeryDarkMan and Blord, where questions were raised about fair pricing and honesty in transactions.
