- Incident at Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) involving a lecturer and a student.
- Lecturer allegedly destroyed a student’s architecture project.
- The lecturer claimed the project was too impressive for the student to have created.
A tense incident occurred at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), when a lecturer allegedly destroyed a student’s architecture project, claiming the student could not have produced such an impressive design.
Videos capturing the scene have gone viral on various social media platforms.
In the footage, the student is seen standing beside his lecturer, who uses a stick to destroy the building model.
According to the student, the lecturer damaged the project because he doubted the student’s ability to create it independently. The student further alleged that this was the third time in the same semester his work had been destroyed for the same reason.
He captioned …
“Your lecturer didn’t believe you did your work. This is the 3rd time this semester they didn’t believe I did my work.”

Netizens Reactions
@ispeakdefi: “You see why many talented students lose interest?
The moment you try to do something extraordinary, someone in authority feels intimidated.
Instead of saying “well done” they try to bring you down to their level 😂”
@KennethUzorma: “If you didn’t go to FUTO, you wouldn’t understand why we called it Frquently Under Tension Owerri lol”
@heytish_: “This isn’t about stifling creativity; it’s about academic integrity. If the lecturer suspects outsourcing, destroying the model might be extreme but necessary to deter dishonesty. Instead of blaming the lecturer, we should question why such suspicions arise. Is it the lecturer’s fault, or a systemic issue where students prioritize shortcuts over genuine effort? This could be a wake-up call for a culture that values appearances over hard work.”
