A Nigerian lady has gained widespread attention online for accurately predicting the outcome of the World Cup qualifier between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and DR Congo.
The match ended in a 1‑1 draw, with DR Congo ultimately securing victory through a penalty shootout. Remarkably, the woman’s prediction, shared a day prior to the game, turned out to be correct.
Identified on X (formerly Twitter) as @BigZaynabu, she revealed that her forecast came from a dream. She posted, “Nigeria 🇳🇬 1 – 1 Dr Congo. Dr Congo wins on penalties 😂❤️. This was my dream last night. I don rebuke am sha but I just needed to say it out now.”
Her tweet quickly went viral, amassing over 14,000 likes and reaching more than one million views.
Following the loss, Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle addressed the match, confirming the 1‑1 result after extra time and DR Congo’s 4‑3 win in the penalty shootout. He added that a Congolese official appeared to be performing some sort of ritual during the penalties, which made him uneasy.
Chelle also commended Nigeria for their early goal but expressed regret over missed opportunities that could have changed the outcome.
Looking ahead, the 2026 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026, with games hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
