In a bid to make digital learning more accessible across Africa, leading mobile technology and smartphone brand itel has partnered with Tech Sphere Academy (TS Academy) to provide learning devices to students who cannot afford them. The initiative will support selected learners across Nigeria and other African countries, ensuring that no aspiring tech talent is left out because of limited access to the tools needed for learning.

The partnership tackles one of the biggest barriers in Africa’s digital education landscape: access to affordable, reliable devices. Many young people eager to acquire digital and tech skills struggle to participate in online programs because they lack smartphones or laptops. Through this collaboration, itel and TS Academy aim to close that gap and make learning easier and more inclusive.

“Over the past few months, we’ve met incredibly talented students who are eager to learn but face challenges simply because they don’t have the right tools. This partnership with itel ensures that those challenges don’t stand in the way of opportunity. Every learner who’s ready to grow deserves access, and that starts with having a device that connects them to the classroom,” said Adetola Durojaiye, Founder of Tech Sphere Academy.

The devices will enable learners to attend virtual classes, complete projects, and take part in mentorship sessions.

This partnership builds on TS Academy’s N1 billion scholarship initiative, which has already provided 3,000 Africans with fully funded access to training in Software Engineering, Product Design, Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, Project Management, and other tech fields.

“Education drives progress, and for many students, that journey begins with access to the right device. Our partnership with TS Academy allows us to bridge that gap and support young Africans who are ready to learn and transform their futures,” said Olorun-nimbe Dolapo, ATL Marketing Manager at itel Nigeria.

Beyond distributing devices, both organisations are exploring other ways to support digital literacy and job-readiness across the continent.

The partnership marks another step toward TS Academy’s goal of making digital tech education practical and accessible for everyone. With itel’s support, more students who once struggled to join classes will now have the tools they need to learn, complete their training, and pursue real work opportunities in the tech space.
