Former Big Brother Naija Housemate, Kiddwaya, has called out Nigerians for worshipping politicians and praising their bad behaviour.
Naija News reports that Kiddwaya sparked conversation online after criticising Nigerians who publicly praise politicians but only complain on social media when bad decisions affect everyone.
The reality TV star in the post via 𝕏 said many people “hail and beg” politicians in real life, yet come online to “cry” rather than hold leaders accountable.
He also added that most of the backlash he receives comes from people who “only insult and make jokes” instead of demanding better governance.
He wrote, “You keyboard idiots will be worshipping politicians. Praising their bad behaviour. Hailing and begging when you see them, not bold enough to do shit when they make bad decisions that affects all of us yet the only power you have is to come online and cry like a bitch. Why don’t you grow some balls and start holding them accountable. The only thing most of you can do is insult people like me and make stupid jokes. The joke is on you.”
Kiddwaya’s post triggered several reactions, as a social media user pointed out that even though his message had some truth, his own father has been involved in politics, stressing that Nigerians often rely on outside help when real action is needed.
Another user challenged Kiddwaya directly, asking him to show what personal steps he has taken to hold the government accountable.
Another 𝕏 user also agreed with Kiddwaya’s point, noting that many Nigerians attack pastors and celebrities but still praise politicians when they see them in public, only to return online to complain when things go wrong.
