The odds are in Hunger Games fansā favor.Ā
After all, Lionsgate dropped a surprise teaser trailer for Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reapingāthe franchiseās next installment that tells the backstory of Haymitch Abernathyāon Nov. 20, exactly one year before the film will hit theaters.
The trailer opens to the annual reaping ceremony held throughout Panem, with Drusilla Sickle (played by Glenn Close, fake teeth and facial prosthetics leaving her unrecognizable) announcing District 12 will need to supply double the amount of tributes in honor of the second Quarter Quell.
āTwice the tributes,ā Drusilla says into the microphone, to a stony-faced crowd. āTwice the glory.ā
From there, the arena in which a teenaged Haymitch (Joseph Zada) will fight for his life is revealed: unlike the previously foreboding fans have seen, the Quarter Quellās setting is surprisingly inviting and verdant, with picturesque mountains and groves of wildflowers decorating the landscape.
A beautiful faƧade for whatever horrors undoubtedly lurk below.
