Mrs. Nonye Frances Soludo, wife of Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo, has issued a stern warning to former Senator Uche Ekwunife, accusing her of launching unfounded attacks against the Soludo family.
In a statement released on Saturday, the First Lady described Ekwunife’s allegations against her, her husband, and their children as malicious and unacceptable. She said the situation had gone “beyond limits” and would no longer be ignored.
“This is someone I have hosted and cooked for, together with her children, on several occasions. For her to invent such damaging claims against me and my family without provocation shows a dangerous level of desperation,” Mrs. Soludo stated.
72-Hour Ultimatum
The governor’s wife alleged that Ekwunife was engaging in a political strategy aimed at smearing families of opponents. She demanded that the former lawmaker retract her statements and tender a public apology within 72 hours, noting that her legal team had already been alerted.
Mrs. Soludo also challenged Ekwunife to take an oath of fidelity before the Blessed Sacrament in a Catholic cathedral and further suggested that their children undergo paternity tests at accredited hospitals in London, with all expenses borne by Ekwunife.
“I take pride in my chastity. At 55, I have known only one man my husband, Chukwuma Soludo. As a woman raised in a strict Catholic home, I urge you to do the same,” she declared.
The First Lady emphasized that she has lived a private, decent life without relying on public funds, adding that her 33-year marriage has been built on fidelity.
Dismissing Ekwunife’s comments as “childish emotional outbursts,” she insisted that her husband is “too upright, too decent, and too sophisticated to waste his energy on such distractions.”
