• Journalist Kemi Olunloyo has claimed that Hilda Baci’s first Guinness World Record cook-a-thon was not sponsored by a “sugar daddy” as rumored but by a man named Dami.
  • She further alleged that Dami had also bankrupted several music artists. Hilda and her team are yet to respond to the claims.

Controversial Nigerian journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, has made fresh claims regarding the financial backing behind celebrity chef Hilda Baci’s first Guinness World Record (GWR) attempt.

In a post shared online, Olunloyo dismissed speculations that a “sugar daddy” sponsored Hilda’s famous cook-a-thon in 2023, which earned her global recognition. According to her, the real financier was an individual named Dami, not an older lover as some rumors suggested.

Allegation Against Dami

Olunloyo alleged that Dami, who she claimed was instrumental in funding Hilda’s record-breaking bid, also had a history of financially straining several music artists, allegedly leaving some bankrupt.

She wrote:

“Who funded Hilda’s First Guinness win? It was not a ‘sugar daddy.’ It was Dami who bankrolled her and bankrupted several music artists. Know the facts and stop trying me🙄.”

Public Reaction

The allegation has stirred reactions online, with many urging caution and fact-checking, while others accused Olunloyo of targeting Hilda with unverified claims. Neither Hilda Baci nor her management has responded to the latest statement at the time of this report.

Background

Hilda Baci rose to prominence in May 2023 after breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual. The cook-a-thon, which took place in Lagos, was a massive media event and drew global attention, cementing her place as one of Nigeria’s most celebrated chefs.
