A Nigerian lady, Anthonia Umerah, has sparked conversations online after revealing that she turned down ten marriage proposals in 2025 alone.

Taking to her Facebook page, Anthonia explained that her decision was not about the men’s character but their inability to meet her financial expectations for marriage and the lifestyle she desires.

She wrote:
“This year alone, I have rejected upto 10 men who want to marry me. Not because they are bad, but because they don’t have money for marriage responsibilities and the lifestyle I want to maintain. Husband is not scarce. Men who have money are not enough.”

Her post has since stirred mixed reactions on social media, with some users criticising her stance as materialistic, while others defended her right to choose the kind of partner she wants.
