Over 81 players will participate in the maiden Nigeria Maritime Golf Challenge scheduled for tomorrow at the prestigious Golf Course of Ikoyi Club 1938, the organisers have said.
The tournament, which is part of the World Maritime Day celebrations, will attract over 81 players from across the country. Chief Executive Officer of QUBES LLC, organisers of the one-day competition, Lanre Bayewu, the event is among many events lined up for the World Maritime Day, which grand finale holds on September 25.
He said that the celebrations, with the theme “Our Ocean, Our Obligation, Our Opportunity,” will to showcase Nigeria’s maritime industry through sport.
He said: “The tournament will feature seven competitive categories: Longest drive (general, nearest pin (men and women), ladies, veterans, general, maritime and overall best gross.
“All the winners will receive trophies and cash prizes across the competitive categories.”
