The Achadu Oko-Ata and Prime Minister of the Igala Kingdom, His Royal Highness Ali Yusuf Ameadaji, has endorsed the AfriSportPro Youth League, describing football as a powerful tool for promoting peace and unity in Nigeria.

Ameadaji made the endorsement while receiving the league’s CEO and Chairman, Mr. Chukwuebuka Ugwu, who visited him to seek royal blessings and partnership for the initiative.

Expressing his passion for football, the monarch praised the project for its focus on youth development and national integration.

He urged Ugwu to remain committed to the vision, stressing that the league’s message of unity is crucial in a time of heightened ethnic tensions.

Ugwu, who hails from Amechi Awkunanaw in Enugu State, described the AfriSportPro Youth League as a national platform designed to discover and empower young football talent while fostering cohesion across Nigeria.

He emphasized that his visit to the Achadu Oko-Ata was symbolic, showing that all states, including those not yet participating in the league, are part of the project’s vision.

“This gesture is a demonstration of unity. Although Kogi State is not yet represented in the league, I came here to seek blessings, underscoring that this project is not about sentiment but about national cohesion,” Ugwu said.

He further requested the monarch to serve as Royal Patron of the league and pledged to continue championing football as a vehicle for youth empowerment and national unity.
