Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi has signed into law the 2025 supplementary budget worth N75.1 billion, as well as the Environmental Protection Bill.

Signing the two bills into law today at Government House, Dutse, he told journalists that the new appropriation became important after increased revenue inflows into the government’s purse.

He stated that N58 billion out of the total N75.1 billion will be allocated to state projects, while N17.1 billion is earmarked for the 20 local government councils across Jigawa State.

The Governor applauded the State House of Assembly for the speedy passage of the bill, noting that the supplementary budget will hasten the delivery of the ongoing infrastructure and social development projects.

He further urged stakeholders to work with the government in safeguarding the environment for the benefit of the people, stressing that environmental protection is key to sustainable development.

By signing both bills, Governor Umar Namadi says his administration is strengthening the foundation for growth and ensuring that resources are channelled towards projects that will improve the lives of citizens.

On Independence Celebrations, Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has charged the people of the state to close ranks, saying: “By working together, we will strengthen our state and add to the greatness of our country.”
