Egyptian healthtech startup Duaya has successfully acquired EXMGO, a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider specializing in pharmacy solutions, in a six-figure investment deal. This acquisition is a strategic move to further enhance Duaya’s digital transformation initiatives within the pharmacy sector.

Founded in 2021 by Dr. Ahmed Fazara, Duaya has quickly become a prominent digital healthcare platform in Egypt. The company now works with over 500 medical suppliers and serves more than 12,000 clients, including pharmacies, clinics, hospitals, and laboratories. With a growth rate surpassing 200%, Duaya is on track to expand its client base to 25,000 by the end of 2025 and aims to enter the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) markets by 2026.

The acquisition of EXMGO is a significant step in Duaya’s mission to deliver comprehensive digital solutions tailored to the pharmacy sector. EXMGO’s platform allows pharmacies to create branded applications and websites, enabling them to manage online sales, inventory, payment processing, and direct customer communication. Following the acquisition, EXMGO has been rebranded as Duaya Go, seamlessly integrating these capabilities into Duaya’s service offerings.

Through the addition of Duaya Go, Duaya is broadening its services beyond medical supply logistics. The company now provides an all-encompassing suite of solutions that includes software tools, artificial intelligence (AI) applications, and direct e-commerce platforms for pharmacies. This expansion solidifies Duaya as a comprehensive platform for healthcare businesses looking to modernize their operations and engage with customers via digital channels.

Dr. Fazara highlighted that the acquisition is part of Duaya’s commitment to transforming traditional pharmacy operations into streamlined, platform-driven processes. He noted, “This step will improve market efficiency and provide customers with a seamless and professional purchasing experience.”

Looking to the future, Duaya intends to leverage its expanded digital infrastructure to support pharmacies across the GCC region. The company plans to replicate its successful model in Egypt, offering customized solutions to meet the distinct needs of pharmacies in the Gulf markets. This regional expansion reinforces Duaya’s goal of becoming a leading force in the digital healthcare sector throughout the MENA region.
