A 300-level Economics student at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), Chukwuebuka was a familiar face on campus, recognized by his stage name, DJ Brownlex.
The accident occurred on the evening of Saturday, November 1, when the bus carrying Chukwuebuka and several other students reportedly departed late for the concert and was allegedly lacking proper headlights. The vehicle collided with a stationary trailer along the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway.
Reports indicate that both Chukwuebuka and the bus driver died instantly, while several other passengers sustained serious injuries. Two 300-level students remain unconscious, and a final-year student is being treated for a critical brain injury. The injured are currently receiving medical attention at Shanahan Hospital in Nsukka.
Chukwuebuka was laid to rest on Sunday, November 2. A video circulating on social media shows an older female relative grieving deeply, calling out his name while touching his body in an open casket.
