Nigerian comedian AY Makun has spoken out about the growing insecurity in the country, describing Nigeria as “a crime scene” and criticizing the government for its apparent inaction.
His remarks follow a series of alarming incidents, including school kidnappings, killings, and a surge in bandit activities.
AY highlighted that attackers are now targeting churches, abducting worshippers, schoolchildren are being kidnapped from classrooms, and even high-ranking military officers, such as a Brigadier General, have been killed.
He questioned how the nation reached such a state and why there seems to be little effort to address these issues, wondering if foreign intervention might become necessary to tackle what local authorities have failed to resolve.
He concluded by urging leaders to prioritize citizens’ safety, enforce accountability, and implement concrete measures to restore security.
