• Nigerian musician Peter Okoye has responded to claims regarding the EFCC’s involvement in his lawsuit against his brother, Jude Okoye.
  • Reports indicate that the EFCC has denied any connection to the $800,000 lawsuit.
  • An EFCC spokesperson stated in court that there is no evidence linking Jude Okoye to the fraud allegations in the case.

Nigerian musician Peter Okoye has addressed reports claiming that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has denied involvement in the $800,000 lawsuit he filed against his older brother, Jude Okoye.

According to a report by Punch, the EFCC’s spokesperson allegedly informed the court that the agency had no evidence connecting Jude to the fraud allegations linked to the case.

A user on X tagged Peter to the news report and asked if he was aware of the latest development. In his response, Peter dismissed the report as “propaganda” and “a joke.”

He further reacted on his Instagram story, insisting that the claims were completely false. Peter stated that the court session being referenced never took place and described the entire situation as an attempt to tarnish his reputation. He added that social media should not be seen as a judge.

The singer also posed a rhetorical question in Pidgin English, accompanied by a hashtag: “Una thief abi una no thief?”

The Okoye brothers Peter, Paul, and Jude have been at odds for years following the split of their music group. Peter had previously taken legal action against Jude, making multiple accusations in the process.
